Individual entries

 

Please send in your poems on the theme of 'place' by 31st July, by email using the form below, or by post to Betjeman Poetry Prize, 5 Princes Crescent, Hove, East Sussex BN3 4GS (click here to download an entry form). You can write in any style, and to any length. Your poem does not need to rhyme. If you are a teacher entering a whole class, click here.

The Betjeman Poetry Prize is open to 10 -13 year olds from the United Kingdom and Ireland

Entry form for teachers

 

Please compile all your students’ poems into ONE document with numbered pages – either a Word file or a PDF. The first page of your document should include the following information:

Your Name
Your School
School Address

Your contact number
Your email Address

At the top of each poem, please state:

The student’s name
The student’s age
Poem title

Please make sure that the name of the teacher entering his/her class and the name of the school are clearly visible on each page of the document you are sending.


Send in your file by post to Betjeman Poetry Prize, 5 Princes Crescent, Hove, East Sussex BN3 4GS, together with our entry form (click here to download one), or online using the form below.

Every teacher who enters their class joins a prize draw to win a poet visit.

Please note that for administrative reasons entries will not be acknowledged.
